Our Sister Camp
Pine Lake's sister camp is Trout Lake Camps in Minn. The relationship between the camps began in 2008 when the Iowa Baptist Conference and the Minnesota Baptist Conference discussed a potential merger. Over the next year and a half, the two unique camps merged into one. Although the camps are separated by over 375 miles, the core ministries are a hand-in-glove fit, both locations are a meeting place with God.
Common HeritagePine Lake and Trout Lake emerged from a movement in the 1940's and 50's where church leaders in Iowa and a separate group in Minn., desired to build a Christian camp in their state. The church leaders were part of the Baptist General Conference (BGC) and even though the two states were part of different districts, they both were associated with the BGC. This common history and connection across state lines brought us together. Same MissionBoth camps desire to have the love of Jesus explained, lived-out and experienced by campers. With the same heritage, their is a common statement of faith that both camps believe. |
Synergies of MinistryMost of us recognize the increasing operation costs of running a business. With Christian camping, many of the expenses are repeated from one camp to the next. Expenses such as: online registration software, office management procedures, insurance coverage, recruiting expenses and more can now be spread out over a larger customer base which lowers the camp costs for everyone. Our synergies, along with our dependance on God, will increase our effectiveness in ministry. That's the Pine Lake and Trout Lake experience. It’s a good place to be. |
